So I kinda quit blogging for awhile… I thought about quitting this blog forever, just because it has NO focus. I just post random stuff, and I felt like that wasn’t really what I wanted to do. I did find out that maintaining a blog is going to be a requirement of my Computer in Education class. Obviously, not this blog, an education type blog. I have no idea what it’s going to entail yet, we’ll see.
A decent amount of things have happened lately. Most boringly, I’ve started my 6th semester of school. Part two of junior year. Getting closer to graduation… kinda scary. In a way, I think I’ll miss school, but in a way… I won’t. Because it’s tedious. I’m taking mostly gen eds this semester. Sociology, Human Sexuality, some low level math class. I’m also taking two education classes. The required one is Adaptive Instruction for Students with Disabilities, and the elective is Computers in Education. According to my advisor, I’ll never get a job without it. I feel like if that was so, it would be required. He must get a cut of the tuition or something. I’m also taking Collegiate Chorale. I sang in the chorus all through middle and high school, and have wanted to sing in college as well. This is the first time I’ve been able to fit in it. And it barely fits, seeing as the instructor decided that she would extend class time by 10 minutes. Sorry, but I signed up for a class that ends at 1:20, not 1:30. When I have get to Brewer by 2 oclock for work, that extra ten minutes makes all the difference.
In more exciting news, I suppose, my cat Silas broke his leg two weeks ago. We have no idea how it happened, just that it happened while we were out of the house for maybe 2 hours, tops. It was so shocking, because he’s such a mellow, laid back cat. Never goes outside, rarely runs around and jumps and plays. How he managed to break his leg, we’ll never know. Anyways, of course, it happened on a Saturday night so the poor guy had to wait until Monday to go to the vet. He didnt seem like he was in that much pain, so we just kept him comfy and made sure he didn’t seem too bad off, which he didn’t. I was honestly thinking I was over reacting and that it was just a sprain. Even the vet didnt think it was broken when he checked him out, because he poked and prodded and Silas didnt make a peep. However, when he did the xrays just to sure, it was definitely broken. They did a surgical procedure called a femoral head ostectomy so he didnt need a cast or anything, just some stiches and an overnight stay. Poor guy was so upset. I hated leaving him, but it needed to be done. He came home and was walking on it that night. Just some pain medication for a few days.
He went into the vet again tonight for a check up. His leg was fine, like I figured, but I did have one concern. He was going to litter box like every 5 minutes but barely peeing. I thought it possibly a side effect of the pain medication, Metacam, which I could only find horrible things about online. I was so worried and really pissed off that they didnt give us any information about the possible effects of this medication. I was all ready to go in there and go nuts tonight, but the vet checked him out and said it was likely a UTI from holding his bladder too long, probably after surgery when he was scared and in pain. So now he’s on antibiotics and a urine acidifier to help with the infection and the pain. So, I get to squirt medcine and force pills down his throat twice a day for like 2 weeks. He’s going to love me… so much… He already spit bright pink bubblegum scented liquid (yeah, seriously, its the same exact stuff they give children) all over me at the vet’s. So much for showing me how easy it was to give him his medicine. Should be a fun two weeks…
I’m so tired… I had school, work, and the appointment today, and then CPR training, school, and work tomorrow. Then Dad’s staying the night here so he can get to Winterport early in the morning for some falcon thing, who knows, and then I’m driving to Hodgdon Saturday morning for a slumber party with my friends! (No… I’m NOT too old for it.
)
Here’s a little something to help you out, if you’re having a rough day too. It’s HILARIOUS.

I enjoy blogs with no purpose (like my own) because everything in life has a purpose. Why not write about things with no particular goal? My blog was supposed to be about my attempts at losing weight and trying to finish my novel. It turns out, my blog is just about whatever I’m thinking about. It’s more fun haha.
So I like your blog and I’m glad you didn’t stop blogging because obviously I clearly enjoy reading your thoughts…. even tho I only read the first paragraph of this one haha
Ha ha, thats okay. I try to do more picture posting than writing. Keeps it more interesting.
